Police Force to launch website

THE Myanmar Police Force plans to launch its own website to make it easier for the public to find emergency contact numbers, a senior official said earlier this month.
At a press conference on June 4, police chief Brigadier General Khin Yi told reporters the website would improve the flow of information between the public and law enforcement authorities.
“We have discussed it with technicians and are working on the website now. In the meantime, we will spread those telephone numbers through local journals and state-owned newspapers so the public can easily contact the police,” Brig Gen Khin Yi said.
“We need help from the public in solving crimes and in this way we can get information more quickly as well. We hope it will lead to a drop in crime,” he said.
