MANGWAY FC footballer Nsangon Arouna Ayiagnigni, from Cameroon, has been sacked by the club for issuing a false media statement after he mysteriously failed to return from his holiday break.

Magway’s Chief Executive Officer, U Khin Maung Latt , told The Myanmar Times on January 12, that the player had continually breached the rules and regulations outlined in his contract and that the club was considering whether or not to sign an International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“As far as Magway FC is concerned we have not mistreated Arouna and if he continues to give false statements to the media stating otherwise, then we will put him on the international blacklist,” U Khin Maung Latt said.

Arouna signed with the club in August 2009. His contract entitled him to one-week holiday break.

Magway FC granted players one week of leave on November 5 with the understanding that they returned to the club by November 12.

Aurona however returned to the club on January 6, with local football journals reporting that the player had been involved in a car accident in Cameroon.

“He was only supposed to be traveling to Malaysia,” U Khin Maung Latt said.
