Quake's devastation leaves nearly 30 dead, hundreds injured

A powerful earthquake that struck Myanmar Sunday, November 11 has left 38 people dead or missing and about 230 injured. Kaung Htet, The Myanmar Times' Head of Photography, visited the epicentre of the earthquake's devastation in the town of Thabeikkyin Monday, November 12 to find victims recovering in hospital and taking temporary shelter.

Religious unrest in Rakhine State

Fighting in Myanmar's Rakhine State between the Buddhist Rakhine and the Muslim Rohyinga minority has left at least 89 people killed, 136 injured and more than 5000 homes destroyed. The UN says 28,000 people have also been displaced. The Myanmar Times' Head of Photography, Kaung Htet, explores the aftermath of the violence and civil unrest.
