AIR Mandalay has announced that it has suspended direct flights from Nyaung Oo to Thandwe and from Heho to Thandwe (via Yangon) from December 3 to April 31. A company spokesman told The Myanmar Times that these flights have been temporarily shelved because there are not enough customers. A source from one tour company said the dropping of direct flights will increase costs and travel times. “Passengers flying from Heho and Nyaung Oo must now transit through Yangon and must buy a second ticket to get to Thandwe.” This was confirmed by the Air Mandalay spokesperson. – Yi Yi Htwe
